sunday bloody sunday rx2008
Here is proof that some people have far too much time on their hands. I estimate the edit would have taken several days.
None the less, whoever you are who can afford such a life style - thankyou.

Here's the rub.
I'm not a 'sit at the desk', 'learn the tables', 'quietly read the books', kind of student.
I struggle here at Bible college. Not because of the college, nor because of the people, but because I dont learn well this way. I like preparing sermons and writing camp talks and chatting with some of my Christian brothers late at night, drink in hand.
My parents knew this - they told me. But in classic son to parent way I thought I knew better, classic!
Yet, at the same time this is the place God has me and it is a beautiful place.
You see, the grass is never greener.
If you have problems, you take them with you to bible college.
If you have fears you don't defeat them by changing your backdrop.
We live on the edge of glory, but "the cross comes before the crown and tomorrow is a Monday morning."
So know this, if you are a beliver and you turn up each week to church and are part of the family of God, you have no better time to minister and spur on and teach then right now, this week, today.
You will never have a better time to live God's way than right this very moment.
There is no more knoweldge that you need, other than the truth of Christ - him crucified and resurrected.
And while I train to be a minister, because I feel the weight of the call and the importance of Godly leaders, this world will not be changed by Church Ministers, it will be changed by Church members.
....and if all else fails, I shall pack my bags, move to the US and join this revolutionary movement.

For the sheer love of battle
For those not in the inner circle of rugby addiction, last nights test against the All Blacks was not just two countries doing battle, but more specifically two players, Richie McCaw vs Phil Waugh.
It was an amazing display and the quote below expresses why I love this game so much!
But Connolly defended the Wallabies against Kiwi allegations they planned to "take out" McCaw.
"As an openside flanker you're on the ball," he said. "Our openside Phil Waugh has a cut over one eye, a gash on the back of his head and marks all over him. If we're doing our job, Richie will have the same."
........you gotta love this game!

Catch up
I've been sick for a couple
of days now, sleeping 12 hours each day and just going to whatever lectures I need to.
I missed my nephews birthday and have felt like I've been in some other world - occasionally peaking my head out to see the outside.
This morning was one such moment. I got up at 6:30 and went for a walk through sydney uni. It was so beautiful with the sun rising and no one around.
Anyway, I've missed a few events over the past 2 weeks that really should have been blogged (actually I wrote a killer blog about all of them that took me 40min....but then it got lost as I hit the 'publish post' key arrrrar).
The first was my nephews Baptism last week. Here is a photo of Richardt and Meryl(godparents), little ben, Scott and Hayley. That kid never stops smiling!
The second was my first ever live AFL game two weeks back. Sydney v Essondon. Great night, great victory, great people.
Sydney won by a mile, I think I cheered at the right time and my nerves regarding my pre game taunting of Christine Hannah and Jane was set to rest. Good times all round.
Leaving the pub early I had to go home and finish a sermon on 1 Corinthians 13, which by the grace of God seemed to really connect with people.
I've given myself 24hours to get over this cold.
After that I get angry.

"Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death."
- Harold Wilson
So third week back for second semester and everything is moving well. I still don't know where the hours in the day go, nor how I can get them back, but I am excited to be where I am.
Big believer that life must be about movement.
Currently my head is in the following books.....

just trying to keep moving.

Don't touch the apples
"No ties of friendship, no chains of beauty, no flashings of talent, no shafts of ridicule must turn me from the wise resolve to flee from sin. The devil I am to resist and he will flee from me, but the lusts of the flesh, I must flee, or they will surely overcome me. O God of holiness preserve they Josephs, that Madam Bubble bewitch them not with her vile suggestions. May the horrible trinity of the world, the flesh and the devil never overcome us!"
Charles Spurgeon
amen, amen, amen!!! Help me Lord Jesus.
.........in other news - I feel off the treadmill at the gym yesterday. It was probably the funniest thing that has ever happened to me, as it was one of those awkward 15 sec falls. I was dragged for some time and grazed and burnt both knees quite badly on the rotating rubber belt, before letting go and ending up on my stomach a metre behind the machine.
Rowan, who was next to me had to run to the bathroom - he almost pissed his pants in laughter.
